Super League

The race at the top of the York Ultra Fabrication Super League tightened further on Wednesday night as several key results shaped the title battle heading into the final stretch of the season.

League leaders #UptheBish produced another strong performance at Bishopthorpe Sports and Social Club, securing an impressive 8–4 victory over Clockhouse P.

Hot on their heels, reigning champions Clockhouse A delivered one of the standout results of the evening, travelling to Huntington WMC to defeat Huntington WMC C 8–4. The result was significant in the context of the title race, bringing Clockhouse A level on points with the leaders and halting Huntington WMC C’s momentum near the top of the table.

Elsewhere at Huntington WMC, Huntington WMC A edged a competitive contest with Dick Turpin A, coming away with a 7–5 victory to strengthen their position in the upper half of the standings.

Huntington WMC B also enjoyed a successful night on the road, claiming an 8–4 win against Burton Warriors at Burton Lane WMC to move further clear of the lower end of the table.

At the Lighthorseman, the home side recorded an encouraging 8–4 win over York Hospital Club A, while The Hammers secured a similar 8–4 result against Clockhouse Z at Green Hammerton Social Club.

With the latest round of fixtures completed, #UptheBish and Clockhouse A now sit joint top on 121 points, closely followed by Huntington WMC C on 119, ensuring the championship race remains finely poised as the season approaches its closing weeks.

Division 2

Another competitive night in Division 2 saw league leaders Clockhouse B continue their remarkable unbeaten run, while several mid-table clashes tightened the race for the top six.

Clockhouse B delivered the standout performance of the evening with a convincing 9–3 victory over Lawrence 8 Ballers at Clockhouse. The dominant display keeps them firmly at the top of the table and extends their impressive unbeaten streak to 16 matches, strengthening their grip on first place and promotion

Haxby Sports Bar also kept the pressure on near the top with a hard-fought 7–5 win away at Edinburgh Legs. In another strong away performance, More Mitre secured an 8–4 victory against Rack’Em Up at Flying Legends, helping them maintain their push in the upper half of the table.

Edinburgh Arms A enjoyed a successful night with an 8–4 win away to The Bay Horse at Stamford Bridge, consolidating their position among the leading teams in the division.

Elsewhere, Heworth B edged past The Cross Keys Dunnington 7–5 in a closely contested match, a result that keeps them level on points with their opponents and firmly in the hunt in the middle of the standings.

The Hogs Head A picked up an important 7–5 victory over The Ozzy Osbournes in another tight encounter, while Crescent A also claimed a narrow 7–5 win against The Mitre.

With several matches finishing 7–5, the evening once again highlighted how competitive Division 2 remains, particularly in the battle through the middle of the table where only a handful of points separate multiple teams.

At the top, however, Clockhouse B continue to set the pace and look increasingly difficult to catch as the season progresses can anyone stop the promotion charge ?
