Well done to the Mighty Oak who were on cue to lift the Premier League Cup with a hard fought 7 - 4 victory over Coton Bandits a the Lucky Break Pool Hall last night. The victory saw the Oak secure an unprecedented treble of the main silverware after already taking the Premier League title and Phil Sayer Memorial Trophy. In a high quality final in which both sides produced some top draw pool the Oak just had the edge at the crucial moments. Callumn Mulhern and Glenn Dunn break dishing for the Oak and Karl Knight break dishing for the Bandits while Callum O'Hagan potted the all important winning frame. Thanks to the Lucky Break for hosting us.
The Travellers were also in the pot zone to beat the Flagnificent 7 in the final of the Mark Storer Memorial Trophy at the Chapel End Libs last night. The Travellers side pictured here with Mark's wife Lisa and daughter Tegan were in tip top form on the night to secure their own league and cup double. The final was again a credit to both teams, it went one way and then the other as they shared the first 8 frames, but the Travs reeled off 3 unanswered frames to take the final 7 - 4. Thanks to the Chapel End Libs for hosting us.
Well done to the Oakey Cokey who potted the Division Two Cup with an excellent 7 - 3 victory over the Midland Railway at Coton Sports Club last night. The Cokey boys were in the pot zone producing some excellent finishes, while at the same time the Mid Boys will be ruing a few missed chances they maybe should of taken. Nevertheless it was a great final played in a brilliant fashion by 2 closely matched sides. The Oakey finish the season with a league and cup double while the Midland ran them a close 2nd in both. Well done to all involved and thanks to the Coton Sports Club for hosting us.
