TEAM CAPTAIN’S MATCH NIGHT GUIDE

BEFORE THE MATCH
✓ Confirm fixture details and venue.
✓ Ensure all players are registered and eligible.
✓ Ensure any newly registered player has received Committee approval before participating.
✓ Have access to the League’s approved results system (RackEmApp).
✓ Communicate promptly with the opposing captain if any issues arise.
MATCH START TIMES
• Standard match start time: 8:00pm.
• Teams should be present and ready to play before the scheduled start time.
• Matches must commence no later than 8:30pm unless prior communication has been received and agreed.
• Failure to attend by 8:30pm may be treated as a no-show.
PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
Remember:
✓ Players must be registered and approved before playing.
✓ Players may represent a maximum of two teams during a season.
✓ Teams may register a maximum of ten (10) players during a season.
✓ Once a team has registered ten players, no further registrations may be made regardless of players leaving.
✓ A player who has represented a team in a League or Cup fixture is deemed registered to that team for eligibility purposes.
PLAYING SHORT
• Teams should make every reasonable effort to fulfil fixtures.
• Where a team is unable to field a full side, the fixture should still be completed wherever possible in accordance with the Playing Rules.
• Captains are encouraged to work constructively to ensure fixtures are fulfilled.
LEAGUE MATCH FORMAT
• Sixteen (16) frames per match.
• One point awarded per frame won.
• Two (2) bonus points awarded to a team winning nine (9) or more frames.
Example
10–6 Result
Winning Team: 10 frame points + 2 bonus points = 12 points
Losing Team: 6 frame points
LEAGUE TABLE TIEBREAKERS
If teams finish level on points:
- Most frames won.
- Most match wins.
- Head-to-head record.
- Play-off (if required by the Committee).
RESULTS SUBMISSION
✓ Results must be entered via RackEmApp.
✓ Both Team Captains are responsible for ensuring results are correctly recorded.
✓ Results must be submitted within 24 hours of completion of the fixture.
✓ Captains are encouraged to verify the recorded score before leaving the venue.
CAPTAIN’S CHECKLIST
Before leaving the venue:
✓ Confirm match result.
✓ Confirm frame scores.
✓ Confirm player participation if required.
✓ Verify RackEmApp entry.
✓ Resolve any score discrepancies.
✓ Ensure both captains agree the recorded result.
POSTPONED LEAGUE FIXTURES
• League fixtures may be rearranged by agreement.
• Rearranged fixtures must be completed within twenty-eight (28) days of the original fixture date unless otherwise directed by the Committee.
• Captains should notify the Committee of any rearranged fixture.
TEAM KNOCKOUT CUP
Remember:
✓ Cup fixtures may be played earlier by agreement.
✗ Cup fixtures may not be postponed beyond the scheduled fixture date except by Committee direction in exceptional circumstances.
✓ Players who have represented another team in the Cup are cup-tied.
✓ Semi-Final and Final players must have played at least 50% of their team’s completed League fixtures.
CUP SHOOT-OUTS
If a Team Knockout Cup match is tied after sixteen (16) frames:
✓ Each Captain shall nominate one player.
✓ The nominated player must have played at least one frame during the match.
✓ A single-frame shoot-out shall determine the winner.
INDIVIDUAL COMPETITIONS
Singles, Doubles and Captains Cup:
✓ Played on designated competition dates.
✗ Fixtures cannot be rearranged.
✓ Failure to attend may result in elimination.
✓ Semi-Final and Final competitors must have played at least 50% of their team’s completed League fixtures.
DOUBLES COMPETITION REMINDER
✓ Traditional doubles format.
✓ Partners alternate visits.
✓ Partners may confer before the first shot of a visit.
✗ No conferring once the first shot of a visit has been played.
Conferring Penalties
1st Offence – Warning
2nd Offence – Foul
3rd Offence – Loss of Frame
4th Offence – Loss of Match
MATCH DISPUTES
• Captains should seek to resolve issues amicably where possible.
• Fixtures should continue wherever reasonably practicable.
• Relevant facts should be recorded.
• Unresolved disputes should be referred to the Committee as soon as possible.
• Fixtures should not be abandoned except in exceptional circumstances.
HOST VENUE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure the table is available and fit for play.
• Ensure reasonable playing conditions are maintained.
• Promote a safe and respectful environment for all participants.
• Support the smooth running of League fixtures.
NO-SHOWS
• Teams should notify their opponents as early as possible if they are unable to attend.
• Failure to attend by 8:30pm without prior communication may be treated as a no-show.
• No-shows may be referred to the Committee for consideration.
CAPTAIN’S RESPONSIBILITIES
✓ Promote sportsmanship and respect.
✓ Ensure players conduct themselves appropriately.
✓ Resolve minor disputes amicably where possible.
✓ Report serious incidents to the Committee.
✓ Comply with the League Code of Conduct.
REMEMBER
The Team Captain plays a key role in ensuring League fixtures are competitive, fair, enjoyable and professionally administered.
