Cue Club Bye-Laws

1. Rules of Play

• All matches are played under official Blackball rules.

• Each venue must display a copy of these rules in the bar area near the pool table.

2. Match Equipment

• The home team must provide a complete set of match balls

• Every table has to be equipped with a functioning rest and “spider”

3. Cue Ball Handling

• Touching the cue ball while it is in motion, on the table, or in a pocket is not allowed.

• The referee will issue one official warning per team for the first offence in a match.

• Any further offence will result in loss of frame.

• Players must always ask the referee before taking ball in hand.

4. Coaching

• Team coaching during a match is not permitted.

• One warning per match will be issued.

• A further offence will result in a foul.

5. Referee Pressure

• Calling a foul shot before the referee has made a decision is considered pressuring the referee.

• One warning per team will be given.

• A further offence will result in a foul awarded to the opposing team.6. Touching Ball / Frozen Ball

• Decisions regarding a touching ball or frozen ball can only be made by the referee.

7. Slow Play

• Slow play is a breach of the rules (see Blackball Rules, Section 8a).

• Timed shots are not strictly enforced; however, if the referee considers a player is taking too

long, they may instruct the player to speed up play.

• One warning will be given.

• After the first warning, a shot timer will be put in place for the remainder of the frame.

• Any further offence will result in a foul.

8. Doubles Play

• In doubles frames, partners may talk only until the player touches the table.

• No further conversation is permitted until the next player comes to the table.

9. Referee’s Authority

• The referee’s decision is final in all situations.

10. Match Disputes

• Any match disputes must be noted on the App at the end of the match.

• Disputes must also be submitted in writing to a committee member within 24 hours.

• Only then can a decision be reconsidered or overturned.
