Vale of Glamorgan Singles League

Welcome to the Ultimate Pool VOG Singles League.

8 players. 7 weeks. 7 matches. £10 entry.

🥇 One league champion – with multiple opportunities to win throughout the year.

Entry Criteria

🎱 How It Works - Each division will consist of 8 players, with everyone playing each other once.

That means:

  • 8 players per division
  • 7 matches per player
  • 7-week season
  • Matches played on a set night each week
  • All matches played at our dedicated Barry venue
  • £10 entry per player

Players don't need to arrange matches or venues themselves. Simply turn up on the scheduled league night and play your fixture.

Match Format

Matches will use an Ultimate Pool-style timed format:

  • 30-minute match OR first to 5 frames, whichever comes first
  • Approximately 30 seconds per shot as pace-of-play guidance
  • There will not normally be a formally enforced shot clock during league matches
  • Players are expected to maintain a reasonable pace of play
  • The organiser may intervene in cases of consistently slow play
  • If either player reaches 5 frames, they win the match
  • If the 30-minute match clock expires, the player leading on frames wins
  • If the scores are level when time expires, the match will be decided by a 6-red shootout
  • Matches will be played to International 8-Ball Rules

🏆 League Champion & Prize Fund

The player finishing 1st in the league table at the end of the seven-week session will be crowned the:

Ultimate Pool Barry Singles League Champion

There will be no separate Finals Night during the initial sessions. League position at the end of the seven weeks determines the final standings.

As the league grows, additional competitions and regional opportunities may be introduced.

🔄 Multiple Sessions Throughout the Year

One seven-week session isn't the end.

The Barry Singles League will run through multiple sessions throughout the year, giving players regular opportunities to compete and become a league champion.

Each new session means a fresh league and another opportunity to win.

Players can participate in individual sessions or return throughout the year and compete for multiple league titles.

📊 Divisions

We will initially start small and focus on creating competitive, well-run divisions.

As more players join, additional divisions can be introduced:

Premier Division
Division One
Division Two
…and so on.

This will allow players to compete against opponents of a broadly similar standard.

As multiple divisions become established, promotion and relegation can be introduced between sessions.

📍 League Nights

All matches will take place at a dedicated venue in Barry on a set night of the week.

Fixtures and playing times will be scheduled in advance, so players know exactly when and where they are playing.

Full venue, league night and start-time information will be provided before the session begins.
