Rules
The competition will be played to Blackball Rules, with the following event-specific format:
- Matches will be played to a 30-minute match clock, with players completing as many frames as possible within that time.
- The player with the most frames won when the 30-minute match clock expires wins the match.
- When the match clock expires, the current score stands and any unfinished frame will not be completed.
- If the scores are level when the match clock expires, the winner will be decided by a six-red shootout.
- There will be no individual shot clock during the main competition. Players are expected to play at a reasonable and continuous pace, and deliberate or excessive slow play may be addressed by the Tournament Organiser.
- The group stage will consist of four groups of four players, giving every player three guaranteed matches.
- Every match will produce a winner, including group matches. A six-red shootout will determine the winner of any tied match.
- The top two players from each group will progress to the quarter-finals.
- From the quarter-finals onwards, the competition will be single elimination.
- A 30-second shot clock may be introduced for the final, with this confirmed to the finalists beforehand.
- Players must be ready to play when called to help keep the event running to schedule.
- Any rules disputes will be referred to the Tournament Organiser, whose decision on the application of the event rules will be final.
