As the FSPL season reaches its climax, here’s a breakdown of what each team needs to secure titles, promotion or survival across the divisions, It’s set up for a dramatic finish across all three divisions. 

 

Premier League

Title Race

  • Hotshots Meridian - 4 points clear. final match against the Footscray Bears, a big win should seal their first league title.
  • Sun over the Meridian - closed the gap to keep in the title race, final game against the Greyhound, only a win by 10+ points will give them hope to retain their Premier League title.

Third Place Battle

  • Greyhound - a very close loss against the Hotshots in their previos games keeps the fight for third place to within 1 point, they must win, and better the New Eltham Kings result, who play Eltham Hill.

Relegation Battle

  • Pickwick Terrace vs Eltham Hill - with the Pickwick winning the head-to-head last match it means the Pickwick are almost safe from relegation, Eltham Hill must win with a perfect score and hope the Pickwick lose heavily against the Falconwood A.

Rankings

  • Richard Chapman - has already won the Premier League rankings, could Dave Matthews pip him to being the Top Gun.

First Division

Title & Promotion

  • Plumstead Radical - 16 points clear, a big win over Plumstead Potters means they only need to win 3 games aginast the Blackheath Sports Club to seal the title and promotion.
  • Terrace Sharpshooters - a huge win over the Bellegrove Bullets last time out secures second place and promotion.

Tight Top-Three Race

Only 4 points separate 3rd–5th:

  • Bellegrove Social Club - great win in their last match pushes them into third place, can they beat the Sharpshooters to seal third place.
  • Blackheath Sports Club & The Belfry - tied on 124 points, both teams must have big wins and rely on the Bellegrove losing to have a chance of third place.

Rankings

  • Jeff Laporte vs Leighton Aston
    • Jeff must win all remaining matches to finish top of the rankings
  • Ian Curtis - must win his final match to finish unbeaten in the Top Gun league

Second Division

Champions: Meridian Ultras

Promotion

  • Plumstead Common - Face bottom side Kirkham Street Sloshers, they must win by a minimum of 9-6 to finish second and earn promotion back to the First Division.

Rankings

  • Ben McCarthy - needed only 1 win to finish top of the rankings, and did it in style with a break and dish! he now tops the Top Gun league too
