3 Introduction

Good evening everyone, and welcome to this years AGM, after tonights meeting i will post the minutes on our website for all to see.

Many thaanls for attending tonights meeting, this is your chance to have your say on how your league is run, please remember this is you league and not the committee's league, you decide the format and the rules of the league and we as a committee are only appointed to ensure the league is run as per your requirements and rules, this is why this meeting is so important for you to attend and have your say in how the league is run.

As per the last couple of years, voting will be limited to 2 votes per fully paid up teams, plus 1 vote for committee member, to a maximum of 3 votes per team, with myself as chairman holding the casting vote if required.

Most importantly, please do not interupt myself or anyone else talking during this meeting, if you would like to add any comments to the meeting then please raise your hand and i will invite you to talk.

4 Chairmans Report

Firstly, i would like to start by saying a big thankyou to Baz & Nikki for all the work they have done throughout the year, also the rest of the committee for any of the involvement they have had throughout the season and helping us to run yet another successful season.

This year's AGM will be short, we have not recieved any proposals from any of our members, the only proposals are from myself, not sure if that means the league is running as close to perfect as we can get it or no one is bothered to suggest changes, with that being said lets hop this is the fastest AGM in history.

All thats left to say from me is good luck to all the teams for the 2026 season.

5 Treasurers Report
Treasurer advised that as per season all monies paid in had been paid out leaving us with a ballance of £15, a printed version of the accounts was available for all to review.

8 Proposals

Now we move onto the proposals section of the AGM.

We have 3 proposals, some will just need a vote of yes or no, can we please move quickly through these as there are a couple that will need discussing, i'm sure none of you want to be here any longer than you need to be.

1 Finances - Proposed by the Chairman

League fees have been the same for several years, however with the league changing to cash prizes along with trophies and everything increasing over the last few years, every presentation night the entrance ticket raffle and team winnings is becoming smaller and smaller as the money is required elsewhere, the main decrease is the entrance ticket prizes which potentially affects all teams.

Currently our match fee's per match are £5 per team, i would like to propose that we increase these to either £6 or £7 per match, based on last years fixtures this would give us an increase of revenue of:

  • @ £6 per match = £566
  • @ £7 per match = £1132

This money would be used as previously said for the entrance ticket raffle prizes and if enough money is generated we could also bring back live music which i believe is being missed by many of you.

  • Voting:
    • For £6 Match Fees = 2
    • For £7 Match Fees = 28
    • Against Increase = 0
2 Bonus Points - Proposed (2025-26 AGM) We Are The Wagtail

Deferred from 2025-26 AGM

As bonus points for the match win has been a success for the league (especially Division 1), we would like to propose a slight variation where teams gain 1 point for a section win, this would mean a potential for teams to still fight in the last section even if they have already lost the matchand may also make the tables even closer than they were last season.

  • Notes:
    • (Chairmans comments from 2025-26 AGM) Chairman really likes the proposed change and has though long and hard about the proposal, however as per our AGM rules he cannot accept the proposal this year as this rule was voted on at the last AGM and should be given the full 2 seasons.
    • This year the Chairman explained that this format is currently being used for this seasons Somerset County Pool Association's Interleague and i believe it adds a bit more competition during matches right to the end of the match no matter what the score.
  • Voting
    • For = 25
    • Against = 0
    • Abstentions = 5
3 Ultimate Pool Doubles Knockout - Proposed by the Secretary

Proposal to add an additional competition in the same format as seen on Monday nights on the Ultimate Pool, a pairs knockout with the following format:

  1. Lag to decide break, then:
  2. First Frame = Scotch Doubles
  3. Second Frame = Singles
  4. Third Frame = Singles
  5.  Fourth Frame = Scotch Doubles
  6. In the event of a tie this will be decided either by another fram of pool (either singles or doubles) or a 6 red shootout.

As we do not have enough free Wednesday evenings the fixtured matches will be based on a "Played By" date.

  • Voting
    • For = 28
    • Against =
    • Abstentions =
9 Presentation Night

Presentation Night for last season was in my opinion the worst attended for many years, the date we picked didn't help as we accidentally booked this for a bank holiday weekend and i can only apologise for this, in addition we landed it on the hottest weekend of the year which didn't help matters.

This years presentation night we will have a confirmed date by the mid-point of the season, hopefully this will give everyone enough notice to attend.
