Glad you could all be here, this year we are sending 2 teams to the Grand Finals so make every shot count!!
LEAGUE NIGHT FLOW:
- 2 members from a team need to present to start first match.
- 15 minute grace period to start first match - after 15 Minutes team forfeits.
- Coin flip determines which team puts up first.
- Alternate scoring & time keep. Home team keeps score & time first.
- Tablets recommended for clock display.
- Time-keep and score using mobile device, display match and shot clock on tablets
- Players lag to decide who breaks first.
- Alternating breaks always.
- Players rack your own.
- After each match, the Winning team puts up first for the next match.
- Double-play allowed all session.
- The team with 5 players always picks the player that is to double play from opossing team.
- all players from opossing team that needs to double play must stay until last match so opossing team can choose player.
- if players do not stay then team forfeits the respective match 4 or 5 or both.
- Double play is a courtesy for teams unable to field five players on any night. Not designed to disadvantage teams that have a full roster.
- Double play matches must be played in matches 4 & 5.
ROSTERS AND RESTRICTIONS
- Up to 8 players on a team – ( 5 matches each night )
- Teams must play a player with a 450 UPL Score or under each night.
- You are allowed to play two players over 600 UPL Score – only one of those players can be over 700 UPL Score.
- Need a player and a timekeeper available to start league each night. (2 Players to start)
- Rosters can be adjusted at any time for sessions 1 & 2. Rosters changes for Session 3 need to occur in the first 4 weeks.
- Players need 4 matches to be considered “active” for the session.
- Players need 10 matches to play in GFQ and / or Nationals.
- Once your team has qualified for GFQ – you need to keep 5 original players on the roster.
- The Qualified team needs to remain active- and stay in the top 50% of the division.
CLOCK MANAGEMENT
- ALL clocks start when the cue ball is struck on the break.
- Shot clock is reset every time all balls stop rolling.
- On a scratch the clocks continue to run – the shot clock is reset to 30 seconds when the cue ball is available to the player in the RETURN.
- Do Not Catch the Scratch!! Loss of Rack!!
- Every player gets one 30 second extension per rack.
- If the player has a UPL score of 450 or below they can use their extension as a timeout.
- The coach or the player can call the timeout/extension – once called it must be used!
- 451 and higher do not get a timeout!- if one is called it is a ball in hand foul!
- Time Keeper gives a 10 second and 5 second warning unless otherwise requested by the player.
- Stop ALL when the player can not address the table – start all when the table is available.
- Stop All once the winning 8 ball is pocketed and all balls have stopped moving to mark win and for player to rack.
THE BREAK
- Follow the rack diagram in manual or go to (Watch Video) on how to rack.
- 8 ball goes on the spot.a
- Open table after the break – call your suit.
- Scratch on break – Ball in hand behind the line in any direction.
- Cue ball off the table or any other foul on a legal break – BIH anywhere on the table.
- No dirty combos – a ball from the suit you first made contact with must fall to be legal combo.
- 8 ball on the break – spots back up. breaker continues shooting.
- CAN NOT win or lose on the break.
- 3 point break - 1 Point for any ball made, 1 Point for any ball that crosses an imaginary 50 yard line on table.
- Miscue on the break – opponents option to break or give it back. Breaking order continues to stay the same.
Ex- Player B does not have a legal break, Player A takes the break, and will also continues to break the next rack.
GENERAL INTERNATIONAL 8 BALL RULES
- All Ball Fouls – ball in hand. Do not move the ball back.
- Intentional Fouls – Loss of rack
- Touching the cue ball while its still in motion - loss of rack. DO NOT CATCH THE SCRATCH!
- Frozen Balls- Hit away from the ball – if the ball moves it’s a BIH foul.
- Scratch when the 8 ball is NOT pocketed – ball in hand foul, not a loss.
- Scratch when the 8 ball is pocketed – loss of rack.
- Early 8 ball – loss of rack
- Balls driven off the table will be respotted and opponent will have ball in hand.
SCORING
- Match Winner: 5 bonus points, +1 pt for every rack won after overcoming initial handicap deficit.
- No additional 5 points awarded if winning player score is 0.
- Match Loser: 1 pt for every rack won after overcoming initial handicap deficit.
- Match Tie: Teams recieve the final score in points.
- Match Forfeits: Individual forfeit: 8 pts, Team forfeit: 25 pts, Team Byes 20 pts.
