Oakey Cokey all in to take Blackball Cup

The Oakey Cokey’s were on cue to pot the Blackball Cup beating holders Team Gurkha Corner 8 - 7 in an epic final at the Lucky Break Pool Hall. In a match that mirrored the famous song they take their named form, they were in, then out, before finally getting over the line. After taking the opening frame the Corner levelled, the Cokey boys won 2 of the next 3 frames though to take the first section 3 – 2. The Gurkha levelled the final by potting the second section 3 – 2 as the tension started to rise. Ryan McCool edged the Gurkha 6 – 5 up only for Luke Bird to level almost instantaneity. Craig Cheneler put Team Gurkha on the hill as they looked good to retain the title but Matt Jones levelled before Lee Judson stepped up to the plate potting a very nervy winning frame to give the Oakey Cokey the first silverware of the season.
