Jams Thomason pot Division One Singles title

Chapel End Libs cueman James Thomason potted the inaugural Division One Open singles title with a 4 - 1 victory over team mate Nathan Lawley. Both players produced some top draw pool in the final but ultimately it was James who had the composure when key moments arrived. Earlier in the evening James beat Gurkha Rejects star player Zac Storor 3 - 0 in the semi finals while Nathan got the better of the Lucky Buddha's Aidan Haddon 3 - 1 in their last 4 encounter. The Midland Railway's Milson Dyet was on cue to beat Steve Kirkland of the Fox In in the plate final. 

The Division Two internal Cup final will see league leaders Pi55 Head Corner take on the White Lion after both sides came through tough semi finals. The Hearty were pushed all the way by the Corner House, the match was nicely poised at 4 a piece before the Hearty potted 3 unanswered frames to take the match 7 - 4.  The White Lion trialled the Wheatsheaf early on but a good run of frames saw them home 7 - 3. The Fox Inn will make their first Divisional Cup final after they beat Oakey Cokey 7 – 5 in the Mark Storer Memorial Trophy. They will take on the winners of Gurkha Rejects and Chapel End Libs ‘B’. The Premier League semi final between Chapel End Libs ‘A’ and Mighty Oak was an absolute classic. The Oak potted the opening 3 frames thanks to James Willis, Jack Richards & Steve Nesden. The Libs finally go on the score board with Danny Evans in the pot zone but Glenn Dunn took the next to put the Oak 4 – 1 up. The Libs fired back with Leo Franklin and Evans cutting the deficient to just one frame.  Richards returned to put the Oak 2 clear before Vivek Makh broke dished to put them on the hill. The Chapel Enders dug deep and closed the gap to one frame again with Sam Baginskis and Baz Newnes in the winners enclosure. But alas just as the shootout looked on Oak captain Glenn Dunn took the last frame to seal the win. They will take on Coton Bandits & Atherstone Cons ‘A’.
