The Mighty Oak were in the pot zone to retain the Phil Sayer Memorial Trophy beating the Coton Bandits in a fantastic final. Arguably the best 2 sides in recent years containing some of the areas best players faced off once again with the Oak having the edge over their main rivals with a 7 - 4 victory. James Willis took a tactical opening frame for the Oak before Paul Willis rolled back the years with a great clearance to get the Bandits on the score sheet. Ant Tedds put the Bandits 2 – 1 up capitalising on a miss by his opponent only to see Steve Nesden level the match once more. The Oak then fired in 4 unanswered frames through Callumn Mulhern, Daz Lee, Glenn Dunn and a reverse dish from Vivek Makh to go 6 - 2 in front. Willis and Tedds knocked in their second wins of the night to cut the deficit to 2 frames before Mulhern returned to take the match for the Oak with a quality clearance.
