Mighty Oak on cue to close the gap at the top

Premier League leaders Atherstone Cons 'A' stumbled again this week drawing for a 2nd week on the trot. It might have been worse as they were facing their first defeat of the season as Chapel End Libs 'A' led 6 - 2, but the long street potters took the final 4 frames to take a share of the points, Danny Price knocking in break dish for the Cons. The Mighty Oak cut the lead at the top to just 2 points after they popped in a eye catching 12 - 0 victory over the Flagnificent 7 while the Atack Snooker continued their great start to the season with a 9 - 3 victory at the Gurkha Corner. Coton Bandits are also on a good run and made it 3 wins from 3 with an 8 - 4 victory over Coton Snooker. Division One leaders Fox Inn suffered their first defeat of the season as Atherstone Cons' B' turned on the power to run out 8 - 4 winners. Midland Railway were on cue to beat Lucky Buddha's 7 - 5 and close the gap at the top to just 2 points. Elsewhere there were wins for Coton Old Boys and Royal Oak while Chapel End Libs 'B' and Gurkha Rejects shared the points. Division Two leaders Pi55 Head Corner enjoyed their trip to Coniston Tavern 'B' coming away with an 8 - 4 victory. White Lion found their potting boots beating the Salutation Inn 11 - 1, the Sally's Dave Atkins break dishing. The Wheatsheaf came from 5 - 3 down to beat Hare & Hellhounds 7 -  5 while the Corner House and Poke n Hope Cons both potted 8 - 4 victories.
