Mighty Oak get off to a flyer

Reigning champions Mighty Oak broke off the new season with a comfortable 9 - 3 victory over Gurkha Corner, new signing James Willis potting 2 wins while Yubraj Gurung took both his frames for the beaten Coton Roaders. Coton Bandits will be looking the end the the Oak boys recent dominance and potted a nice 8 - 4 victory over the newly promoted Travellers, Scotty Varden with a reverse dish. The other promoted side Flagnificent 7 also suffered an 8 - 4 defeat on there trip to the Atack Snooker while Atherstone Cons 'A' sit top after their eye catching 10 - 2 thumping of Coton Snooker. There were mixed result for the newly promoted Oakey Cokey and Midland Railway in Division One, the Cokey going down 8 - 4 to Chapel End Libs 'B' while the Mid Boys beat Coton Old Boys 7 - 5. Fox Inn join the Libs at the top of the table after they beat Coniston Tavern 'A' 8 - 4, Ian Stephenson knocked in a reverse dish for the Royal Oak as they out potted Gurkha Rejects and finally Atherstone Cons 'B' had a great 7 - 5 win over Lucky Buddha's. League newcomers Salutation Inn got off to a flying start in Division Two with an excellent 8 - 4 win over Coniston Tavern 'B' but both White Lion and Corner House lost 8 - 4 to Legless Lions and Lucky Poke n Hope respectively. Elsewhere CJ's and the Wheatsheaf shared the points in a very entertaining draw.
