Leo Franklin pots the Yaka Memorial
Leo Franklin was on cue to pot the Andy Yearby Memorial Shootout last night at a packed Lucky Break Pool Hall. He was in sparkling form all night and beat former winner James Willis in an epic final frame. After winning the lag Leo produced an excellent break dish, James had the right to reply and looked set to take it to a six red shootout until the smallest of flicks on a yellow left him no real shot. At the start of the evening 49 players took to the baize hoping to to be the last player standing, Leo was in the pot zone to take out Craig Yates, Michelle Currin (who missed a sitter to knock him out), Kerry Greenham, current holder Neil Randle before ending the great run of Dane Faulconbridge in the semi finals. While in the other half of the draw James out potted Craig Cheneler, Ian Jones, Karl White before taking out Dave Lea in the last 4. Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who came down last night to make it a brilliant event, really appreciate all your support, Yaka was a top lad. Also thanks to Sarah for presenting the trophy to Leo. Thanks to Michelle & Becs for helping run the night and running the Plate Comp that was won by Steve Fox who beat Danny Barr in the final. Thanks to Kerry & Becky for looking after everyone behind the bar and finally thanks to Nick & Jamie-Lee of the Lucky Break Pool Hall for their continued support, which without, these events would no longer happen.
