1. League Organisers
1.1 The MKSBL Singles League is organised by MK Sports Bar & Lounge, Maria Lewis and Drew Evans.
1.2 Any player found to have falsified a result or conspired to fix a match will be suspended from the league immediately.
1.3 All complaints must be submitted in writing to hello@mksbl.co.uk within 24 hours of the incident. Written complaints will be responded to within seven days.
1.3.1 If an incident is considered serious or urgent, a meeting will be arranged as soon as reasonably possible.
1.3.2 Complaints received after the 24-hour deadline will not be considered.
1.3.3 All complaints will be considered fairly and decided by the League Organisers. Their decision will be final.
1.3.4 The League Organisers reserve the right to investigate any matter independently, even where no formal complaint has been received, and to take appropriate action where necessary.
1.3.5 If the League Organisers require anyone involved in a matter to attend a meeting, they will be notified and must attend.
1.4 If a match is not played within the spirit of the game or in accordance with expected standards of conduct, either player may dispute the match and submit a complaint under Rule 1.3. The match must be stopped immediately. The League Organisers will arrange for it to be resumed or replayed in the presence of a League Organiser. The League Organisers may also require a League Organiser to be present at any future matches between the players concerned. Any player who refuses to replay, resume or participate in a future match under these conditions will forfeit that match.
2. Match Format
2.1 All matches will be played according to International Rules.
2.1.1 All matches must be played at MK Sports Bar & Lounge (MKSBL).
2.1.2 Each player will play every other player in their division once.
2.1.3 Players must complete a minimum of two league matches per month, subject to Rule 4.
2.1.4 Players are responsible for contacting their opponents and arranging their own matches.
2.1.5 League matches cannot be played between 6:00pm on Friday and 6:00pm on Saturday unless the players pay the applicable table charge.
2.1.6 Each match will consist of 21 frames, and all frames must be played regardless of the match score.
2.1.7 Each match includes a maximum allocation of three hours' table time. If the match continues beyond three hours, the players will be responsible for paying for the additional table time. If the table is required for another booking and the match cannot be completed, the remaining frames must be played on another agreed date. Any additional table costs will be the responsibility of the players.
2.2 The break will alternate throughout the match.
2.2.1 Players must lag before the first frame to determine who breaks first.
2.3 Any dispute arising during a match must be reported to the League Organisers by emailing hello@mksbl.co.uk, in accordance with Rule 1.3.
2.4 All fixtures and results must be recorded and completed using the RackEm app.
3. Points System
3.1 The winning player will receive three match points, in addition to one point for every frame won.
3.2 League positions will be determined in the following order: total points, frame difference, and then the head-to-head result. If two players remain level at the end of the season and their position affects promotion or relegation, the League Organisers will arrange a play-off at MK Sports Bar & Lounge.
4. Failure to Fulfil Fixtures
4.1 Players are expected to complete a minimum of two matches per month. However, this may be balanced across a two-month period - for example, three matches in one month and one match in the following month - provided that four matches have been completed by the end of the second month. Failure to meet this requirement will result in the offending player being responsible for the table charge for their next match.
4.2 If a player fails to meet the minimum fixture requirement for a second time, they will be removed from the league and all of their results will be deleted.
4.3 If a player is unable to meet the fixture requirement due to exceptional circumstances, they must contact Maria Lewis or Drew Evans as soon as possible.
5. Handicap Finals
5.1 A handicapped finals competition will take place after the league season has ended.
5.2 Any player who has not completed all of their league matches will not be eligible to enter the handicap finals.
5.3 Matches in the handicap finals will be played as a race to seven frames.
