Postponement of Matches

As a result of some recent events and a few misunderstandings, the HCPL committee have decided to more strictly regulate the postponing and rearranging of matches.
From the Summer 2026 Season onwards, all teams will be allowed a maximum of 1 (One) postponement per season.
One Thursday at the end of the season has been made free for playing postponed matches, and there will also be opportunities for many teams to play re-arranged matches on KO Cup nights through the season.

Any postponement must be made more than 24 hours before the scheduled match time and both the opposition captain and a member of the committee must be informed.

In requesting to postpone a match, the postponing captain should understand that the opposing team will provide two dates for the re-arranged match. These dates are entirely of the opposing team’s choosing.
The team postponing the match can then choose which of the given two dates that they wish to accept, or not accept either date and forfeit the match.

In certain circumstances we understand that teams might request a postponement due to such things as a sudden bereavement within the team, extreme weather conditions, issues with home venue and such like.
In these circumstances, please contact a member of the committee at the earliest opportunity.

Please do not request a postponement because you have one player unavailable, this is not deemed a good enough reason for postponing matches.

The rules of the Summer League allow for playing with the minimum of four players (the amount of players that could technically win a match).
Dipping in the hat if a team is one player short is also in the rules. This would see a team concede just one frame in the doubles section of the match.

We hope that everyone enjoys this Summer Season, the very best of luck to you all!

The HCPL Committee.
