Minutes of the Captains Meeting

I.      DPh opened the meeting with apologies on JR’s behalf for not being able to attend. All captains were then told of JR’s situation and the fact that he would be taking a back seat within the league. It was emphasised that JR should not be contacted with any problems throughout this season and if there are any issues then you should approach CE, DPa or DPh.

II.       BP to confirm Season 17 finances and balance sheet to be made available within 14 days of the closing of Season 17. This will be put on the RackEmApp and Facebook Page for transparency.

III.      Discussion held around moving to perpetual trophies which in general was well received. It was explained that we would need to lower the money spent in the next 12 months in order to make enough of a saving to be able to buy the new trophies. Captains would like the committee to put a costing plan together and then possibly do a poll on the WhatsApp group.

IV.      New playing format was discussed and captains said it worked. No alternatives were submitted so we carry on with the same format in Season 18. (4xSingles, 1xDoubles, 4xSingles, 1xDoubles, 4xSingles)

V.      Finals Day discussed, Sunday 13^th July at The Arrow. The poster has been put out on social media and we are hoping to have Ben Spiers filming & commentating again. Dan Grennell, Matt Day & Will Baird have offered to help ref if needed on the day.

VI.      Transfer & Signing On deadlines were then discussed and was agreed by captains that transfers end at the halfway stage but new registrations can occur up to two weeks before the end of the season.  The deadline for signing players on becomes 7:30pm the day of your second to end game of the season (including Bye weeks).

VII.      Singles and Doubles Comps was agreed by a majority vote to come back into a Tuesday night. Captains were notified that the committee would have to tweak the format so that the season didn’t overrun.

VIII.      DPh read out the new By-Laws that had been added and discussed that they could be found on both RackEmApp and Facebook page for transparency.

IX.      Captains were asked if they could make all players aware of the RackEmApp and that each player has a profile.

X.      Captains voted on how the knockout draws should be determined with a Random draw after each round being in favour.

XI.      Points of contact was reiterated with JR not to be contacted but to go through CE, DPa or DPh with any issues. For RackEmApp problems, contact DPa or DPh.

XII.      Registration will close on 13^th July and Season 18 will start on Tue 5^th August.

XIII.      Voting on Lag for each frame was against so we will stay with the same format as Season 17.

XIV.      Voting on the Doubles Comp format (1v1, 2v2, SD, 1v2, 2v1) was against.

XV.      Voting for Golden Break/Golden Duck was for and will therefore be trialled in the Singles & Doubles comps.

XVI.      Voting on a Blind Doubles Comp was against.

XVII.      Voting on Home Team Refereeing all matches was against so we stay with the same format as Season 17.
