Ashford Singles Pool League

Sponsored by “The Players Bar, Ashford, Cuephoria & “Law Plastering (Kent)

Spring Season (Feb 2026 May 2026)

- Committee for this season: Shane Sims (co-chair), Alex Hoyle (co-chair), Zara Waters, Kyle Bryant, Kev North, Alan Hook & Rob Yarnell.

- As per previous seasons, the format will continue to be English 8 Ball International rules. No golden break or golden duck.

- £15 entry fee (plus £20 refundable deposit for new players). Deposit only refundable upon completion of matches or where extenuating circumstances communicated and agreed with committee.

- Registration closed Saturday 24th January.

- Season begins Sunday 1st February. All matches must be played by Sunday 31st May. No extensions will be granted for missed games by cut off.

- The committee are comfortable for players to arrange matches outside the fixture schedule as the preference is completed matches versus fixture accuracy. But please don’t get too far ahead so as to spoil the format of the division.

- All matches 12 frames, or first to 7.

- All matches must be played in the Ashford area unless agreed by both players. As an Ashford-based league and with some players of restricted transport, we would like all players to endeavour to play at a venue appropriate for both. Ideally within walking distance of Ashford town centre, unless agreed by both parties.

- Home player to arrange venue, both players to agree date and time and endeavour to manage through private communications. We welcome updates on final agreed date and time to help manage venue capacity.

- All matches to be played on a standard 7 foot English pool table with either standard red and yellow or the new Ultimate pool red and yellow balls. Only where both players agree can alternative colour balls or table size (I.e. 6 foot) be used.

- 3 pts win, 1 pt draw, 0 pts loss. No bonus for dishes, but where points and frame difference is equal, result between two players and then most dishes will determine the final standings.

- At the end of the season, the top 3 from each division will secure automatic promotion, the same with relegation. We may look to involve a play-off for fourth and fourth bottom also.

- Post match, please post result including any dishes on your division chat. Instructions will follow for score submission on RackEmApp.

- Knockout date to be voted on by all registered players. Likely a Saturday or Sunday in June.

- Eligible for the knockout will be players who make every effort to complete their matches. Eligibility will be at the committee’s discretion

- Constitution of following season to be determined at June committee meeting.

- New players to the Singles league (overall) will be assessed by the committee against their Thursday league level/ performance (or equivalent) and distributed through the divisions. This may affect existing players but given the influx of new players and anticipated growth of the league, the committee may look to re-balance the divisions for the coming season.

- We will endeavour to maintain 3 seasons per year (4 months max) to allow optimum opportunity for movement between divisions.

- A trophy will be awarded to the winner of each Division and the Premier division winner will have their name engraved on the Ashford Singles Pool league shield.

- In addition, prize money will be available to winners, runners-up and 3rd place finishers across all divisions as follows…

- Committee updates will be posted to the announcements chat.

- A separate banter chat will be created to keep noise to a minimum for those keen to focus on the pool. The committee reserve the right to eject any player from the league (losing their deposit) who jeopardises the integrity of the league through use of inappropriate language including hate speech, bullying, harassment or discrimination of any kind.

- We’re all here to enjoy the game so let’s keep it clean please :) Play well!
