Malvern Pool League Rules

1.        The League shall be known as the Malvern Pool League.

 

2.        The League shall be run by an Executive Committee consisting of no less than 3 members including a Chairman and Secretary. The quorum is 3 members. The Chairman shall have the casting vote in the event of a tie.

 

3.        The Executive Committee shall be meet in person or via video call when a dispute is raised by a team (s).

 

4.        The Executive Committee shall have the right to call a meeting of all the captains to vote on any issue should they deem it necessary.

 

5.        The Executive Committee for each season shall be elected at an Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) before the commencement of each season. An AGM must be held every year.

 

6.        No rules shall be amended during a season. The rules for the season shall be agreed only at the AGM.

 

7.        League Entry Forms must be submitted prior to the commencement of the AGM.

 

8.        Each Team must pay the Registration Fee of £30.00 before the commencement of the season.

League Games:

9.        The League shall be affiliated to the English Pool Association and frames shall be played to International Pool Rules.

 

10.   The League shall be made up of one division.

 

11.   Each Team will play each other home and away.

 

12.   Referees must be always used no exceptions. Each team shall alternate referees each frame.

 

13.   Each match will consist of 14 frames (3 sets of 4 frames & 1 set of 2 Scotch Doubles). A player may only place once in each set. Scotch Doubles Conferring all way through.

 

14.   Teams shall be awarded 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. The Team with the most points at end of the season shall be crowned Champion. In the event of a tie, the league shall be decided frame difference. If frame difference is level, the teams shall contest a play-off match using the Cup Format (First to 8, 4 sets (3 sets of 4 frames and 1 of 3 frames).

 

15.   Golden Break applies in The Malvern Pool League pot the black of the break you win the frame also the Golden duck applies pot the white and black you lose the frame.

 

 

16.   League matches commence at 7.30pm. If a team does not have a player at the venue when the frame is due to start, the frame shall be forfeited. Unless both captains agree to play catch up game when the player arrives. There is not cut off time. Players can arrive at any point during the evening.

 

17.   Results shall be submitted immediately after the conclusion of the game using the RackEm App by both captains. In the singles and doubles, the players who qualify for the next round should confirm they have qualified on the League Facebook Page.  If the Result is not submitted/posted on the evening, then the Executive Committee may impose a penalty including but not limited to a fine.

 

18.   All players shall be registered by the Secretary using the Rack Em App. A Player is not eligible unless it has been confirmed by the Secretary or another member of the Executive Committee should it involve the Secretary Team. Any team found playing an unregistered player shall forfeit the match and points to the opposing side. No captains can sign players on the app the access is there, but you must always use the committee. You can only sign players on during the first half of the season.

 

19.   Transfers are not permitted unless it is an emergency such as the likelihood a team may fold. It will be at the discretion of the Executive Committee.

 

20.   If a team needs to postpone a fixture, the team captain must inform the opposing captain and the Secretary no less than two hours before a fixture. Teams are only permitted to rearrange one game per season unless it is an emergency or due to county pool or a national event such as the Champion of Champions. The rearranged game must be played within 28 days on a free date on a Sunday or midweek if both teams agree and the venue is free. Teams will be deemed to be available on any Sunday evening. If there is no free Sunday within 28 days and a midweek game cannot be agreed, the game must be played on the original date with as many players as the teams have available (minimum of 2 players) or the team who cannot field a side forfeit the game 8-0. If a free Sunday is available, it must be used and the team who cannot field a side will forfeit the game 8-0, not the side who require the game to be rearranged.

 

21.   If a Team do not enter turn up to a fixture without notifying the opposition, an 8-0 victory will be awarded.

Cup Games:

22.   The Team Cup Competition shall be known as the John Farnell Knockout Cup.

 

23.   It is a straight KO and Cup games cannot be postponed.

 

24.   Each match will consist of a maximum of 15 frames (3 sets of 4 frames and 1 set of 3 frames). A player may only place once in each set. The game shall be finished once a team has won 8 frames.

Singles and Doubles:

25.   Each season there will be a Singles and Doubles Competition.

 

26.   The Singles shall be £3 to enter, and the Doubles shall be £5 per pair.

 

27.    The format shall be decided by the Executive Committee before each round commences.
