🏆🎱 ALES Cup: Week 7 🎱🏆
------------------------------------------------------------
🏆 Group A:
- Egham & Hythe Ladies 2 - 11 SS&NR Club:
-
Egham & Hythe Ladies, after a strong run of recent form on getting points, couldn’t maintain their momentum this week as SS&NR flew out of the blocks, taking the opening eight frames (five Singles and three Doubles). Amber Pressman and her mum Maria Griffiths‑Pressman each picked up a frame to avoid the whitewash. It was a strong all‑round result for SS&NR Club, who move up to second place in Group A.

- Egham & Hythe Youth 8 - 5 London Stone:
-
London Stone made a strong start, winning three of the opening four frames, but momentum quickly swung when Dan Reilly took frame five. A dominant middle spell from Egham & Hythe Youth followed, as they swept all three doubles - including a quality, if slightly fortunate, dish from Dan Reilly and Max James against Andy Henson and Nick McDonald, who had narrowly missed the chance themselves. Leading 5–3 going into the final five singles, Egham & Hythe kept their foot on the gas to seal an 8–5 victory.

- Three Tuns NRS 11 - 2 Egham & Hythe Whites:
- Three Tuns are continuing their rampant form with another emphatic 11–2 victory over Egham & Hythe Whites. While Egham were missing a few regular players, that should take nothing away from an excellent all‑round performance from Three Tuns. Martin Court was in devastating form, producing two reverse dishes against Bailey Hyman - the first in the opening frame and the second in frame 13. There was also a moment of quality for Egham & Hythe Whites, as Dan Emmett and Dan East recorded a reverse dish of their own, defeating Martin Court and Leighton Cumber. With this result, Three Tuns have all but confirmed their place in the Cup at the halfway stage.

- Staines Cons New 6 - 7 NRS:
- NRS bounced back from last week’s defeat with a narrow 7–6 victory over Staines Cons New, who appear to have lost a little momentum in recent weeks. It was a tightly fought contest, although NRS made the early running, racing into a 4–1 lead after the opening set of Singles. The Doubles once again delivered the drama and sparked a strong Staines comeback, kicked off by a superb reverse dish from Steve Kent and Matty Clark, which brought the match back to life and forced a decider. With the pressure on, Ricardo Cunha stepped up for NRS against Paul Butler, with Paul Butler holding his nerve to clinch the deciding frame and secure the 7–6 win for his side.

🏆🏆 Group B:
- Eddies 7 - 6 Shepperton Sports:
- Another close encounter for Shepperton Sports, who narrowly missed out against Eddies, a side that continues to thrive in the Cup. It was a mixed contest early on, with Eddies edging into a 5–3 lead after the opening eight frames. The second set of singles sparked a Shepperton comeback, starting with a solid win for Lito Estralla against John Tallent. Hiss Salih briefly halted the momentum by extending Eddies’ lead to 6–4, but strong victories from Allyn Sutton and Terry Linacer levelled the match and forced a decider. With everything on the line, Richard Hurley rolled back the years, overcoming Shepperton Captain Dave Miah to secure the win for Eddies.
----------------------
- WR All Stars 5 - 8 Staines Cons D:
- A night to forget for both WR Sports sides, with WR All Stars falling to an 8–5 defeat against Staines Cons D, who welcomed Dale Saxton‑Moore into the team. Staines were quick out of the blocks, racing into a 4–1 lead, with the only response coming from WR All Stars’ star man, Michael Punter.
WR did claw back some momentum in the Doubles, winning two of the three to close the gap to 5–3, but it wasn’t enough. Wins in the opening two singles from Dan Elsey and Dale Saxton‑Moore pushed Staines into a commanding 7–3 lead, effectively ending any hopes of a WR comeback and the final result coming in at 8-5 to Staines Cons D.

- Jolly Butcher 5 - 8 Sunbury Con Club A:
- Winless Jolly Butcher’s struggles continued as Sunbury Con Club A added to their woes with an 8–5 victory. The singles proved decisive, with Sunbury winning seven of the ten, their only defeats coming at the hands of Emma Cooper vs Ben Pyrce, Amrik Mahn vs Shaun Meehan, and Jason Cooper vs Adam Peters. It was a solid all‑round performance from Sunbury Con Club A, moving them one point clear of their B team and into fifth place at the halfway stage.
----------------------
- Sunbury Con Club B 8 - 5 WR Sports A:
- The shock result of the night saw WR Sports A join the All Stars in suffering a Cup defeat — though full credit must go to Sunbury Con Club B for an outstanding performance. Sunbury flew out of the blocks, racing into a 4–1 lead after winning the opening four frames. WR Sports A looked set for a comeback after finding some form in the Doubles, winning two of the three to close the gap to 5–3 heading into the final five singles. Ethan Coates narrowed the deficit further with a strong opening singles win to make it 5–4, but Sunbury refused to relent. Victories from Liam O’Keefe, Patrick Casey, and Paddy McLaughlin saw Sunbury close out the match 8–5 and secure a huge win. Despite the defeat, WR Sports A remain top of Group B at the halfway stage.
