A big week of action with just two games remaining in the first half of the Cup Group Stages before the league resumes. It was a high‑quality night of pool, highlighted by four dishes — three reverse dishes and one break dish. Results were mixed across the board, but momentum is starting to build for some sides, with Three Tuns leading Group A and WR Sports A setting the pace in Group B.

------------------------------------------------------------

🏆 Group A:

  • Three Tuns 9 - 4 SS&NR:
    • New signing Chris Saunders made an immediate impact for Three Tuns this week, stepping in while several regulars were away and announcing himself in style. A superb reverse dish in frame five against Greg O’Mahony helped put Three Tuns 4–1 ahead. SS&NR fought back in the doubles, taking two of the three frames to close the gap, but Three Tuns were dominant in the singles, winning four of the five to secure a convincing 9–4 victory.

----------------------

  •  Egham & Hythe Whites 6 - 7 NRS:
    • A tight contest that could have gone either way on another night, but it was NRS who edged it in the end. A strong start saw NRS race into a 2–0 lead before Dan Emmett produced a superb reverse dish against Vinny Mitchell to spark the comeback. NRS still held a narrow 3–2 advantage after the opening singles, but Egham & Hythe Whites fought back in the doubles, winning two of the three to level the match at 4–4 heading into the final five singles. When it mattered most, NRS stepped up, taking three of the five singles to secure the win.

----------------------

  • Staines Cons New 4 - 9 Egham & Hythe Youth:
    • A big win for Egham & Hythe Youth and their first of the Cup campaign, delivered by a strong all‑round performance with the singles proving decisive. Youngsters Harvey Hamblin, Max James and Dexter Reilly are beginning to show real confidence and form, and if they continue on this trajectory they could be ones to watch when the league resumes in a few weeks’ time. Staines Cons New were not at their best on the night, losing eight of the ten singles, although they did have the edge in the doubles, taking two of the three frames. Despite that, it was Egham & Hythe Youth who ran out convincing 9–4 winners.

----------------------

  • Egham & Hythe Ladies 6 - 7 London Stone:
    • Arguably their best performance to date in the league saw Egham & Hythe Ladies come agonisingly close to a first win, but regardless of the result it was a superb showing. London Stone made a fast start, racing into a 3–0 lead and looking set for a comfortable night. However, Karen Hyman had other ideas, getting the Ladies on the board with a strong singles win before Amber Pressman followed up with another. The doubles proved pivotal, with the Ladies winning two of the three to level the match at 4–4 heading into the final five singles. Momentum continued early in the singles as mother‑and‑daughter duo Maria Griffiths‑Pressman and Amber Pressman both claimed wins to put Egham & Hythe Ladies 6–4 ahead. London Stone responded when it mattered most, taking the final three singles to edge a dramatic 7–6 victory. A huge performance from the Ladies this week and one that shows just how close that first win now is.

🏆🏆 Group B:

  • WR All Stars 8 - 5 Sunbury Con Club B:
    • Another solid win for WR All Stars, with star man Michael Punter taking POTM after winning both of his singles. WR started strongly, racing into a 4–1 lead, with Chris Armstrong picking up the only early win for Sunbury Con Club B in the opening singles. Sunbury fought back in the doubles, winning two of the three to reduce the deficit, but Mark Goff halted the momentum before Stacey Cox secured the victory for WR All Stars, opening up a 7–3 lead. Consolation points for Sunbury came via wins for Liam O’Keefe and Chris Armstrong, but it wasn’t enough as Michael Punter closed out the match in style.

----------------------

  •  Jolly Butcher 2 - 11 WR Sports A:
    • Last year’s champions continued their impressive Cup Group Stage with another statement victory, sweeping aside Jolly Butcher 11–2. WR Sports flew out of the blocks, racing into an 8–0 lead by winning all five singles and all three doubles before Leo Cooper claimed a frame against Rob Malik. Dan James halted any chance of a comeback with a win over Emma Cooper, while Adrian Jaques picked up another consolation point by defeating Ethan Coates. It was a night to forget for Jolly Butcher as WR Sports ran rampant from start to finish.

----------------------

  • Shepperton Sports 6 - 7 Staines Cons D:
    • Another nail‑biter, and one where Shepperton may have felt they’d done enough to secure the win, but Staines Cons D had other ideas. As with several matches on the night, honours were even after the doubles with the scores locked at 4–4. A special mention goes to Adam Gray and Tony Sparrow, who produced a superb reverse dish in the doubles to defeat David Miah and Lito Estralla. The final five singles proved decisive and came down to the last two frames, with Shepperton holding a narrow 6–4 lead as Tony Sparrow and Adam Gray stepped up. Both delivered under pressure with top‑class performances, turning the match on its head and sealing a dramatic 7–6 victory for Staines Cons D.

----------------------

  • Sunbury Con Club A 5 - 8 Eddies:
    • Another good win for Eddies, with Cup momentum continuing to build as they move closer to securing a top‑four spot following an impressive 8–5 victory over Sunbury Con Club B. Sunbury made the brighter start, edging into a 3–2 lead after the opening five singles, but a brilliant reverse dish from Chris Atwell and Jon Martin levelled the match and sparked Eddies’ charge. That momentum carried into the doubles, where Eddies won all three frames to take a 5–3 lead. The final five singles also went in Eddies’ favour, with three wins sealing a deserved 8–5 success.
