Doubles 2025-26

International Rules

Doubles competition in a 'pairs cup' style format, £5 entry PER PLAYER (£10 per team). Players do not need to be registered to the same league team to play as doubles partners.

 

Competition to be played on Tuesday 21st April at Frank's with the final to be played on finals night (Tuesday 2nd June).

 

Entry deadline is Wednesday 15th April; entries not paid for by this date will be removed from the competition.

Entry Criteria

Players registered to the St Albans & District League for the Winter 2025/26 season. Both entrants must have played in a minimum of 3 league matches during the season.

Rules

International rules; golden break and golden duck rules are in play.

 

Format for rounds up to and including last 64 (race to 3):

1) Player A vs Player B

2) Player B vs Player A

3) Scotch Doubles

4) Player B vs Player B

5) Player A vs Player A

 

Format for last 32 onwards (race to 4):

1) Scotch Doubles

2) Player A vs Player B

3) Player B vs Player A

4) Scotch Doubles

5) Player B vs Player B

6) Player A vs Player A

7) Scotch Doubles


Scotch Doubles frames: players take alternate shots, discussion between players is allowed at the beginning of each visit only.
