North Walsham Pool Singles League 2025/26
Registration ClosedRegistration for North Walsham Pool Singles League 2025/26 is now closed.
Welcome to the North Walsham Pool Singles League.
Matches are to be played to International rules with the exception of the shot clock. In league matches the
home player will break off first and then alternate afterwards.
For the Knockout Cup competition the first break off is decided by a lag then alternate afterwards.
The home player may choose the venue for their home match within 15 miles from the Orchard Gardens North
Walsham unless both players are in agreement of a venue further than this distance, please just take a picture
of your final score and message on the group chat or directly to Marcus Allen via Messenger or text/WhatsApp
to 07734652029 and please ensure names, dates, venues, group numbers etc are very clear to read.
If a player wishes to play their home matches on their own table then this is fine as long as both players are
happy with this.
The choice of venue for the home player is to relieve pressure on the Orchard Gardens as it is a Public House
and Public Pool Table. If however both home and away players are able to play their match at another mutually
decided venue then this will be appreciated. If the Orchard Gardens pool table is still in use by non league
players on arrival then please allow them to finish up before starting your matches.
Please call the Orchard Gardens to check if there are any functions or other events going on that may prevent
you from playing your match at the Orchard Gardens, then add your match to the calendar linked below and
please remember, adding a match to the calendar is not BOOKING THE TABLE it as again, it is a public use table.
Frame costs at any venue split between players however at the Orchard Gardens you can ask the bar staff for
the free play wire to use the table on free play for your match (Approved by Emma) and this must be removed
once your match is finished and returned to the bar staff. If you are unsure of how to fit the free play wire then
ask the bar staff to fit it.
It is the responsibility of both players to make contact to arrange their match, if neither player has made contact
to arrange their match by the end of the calendar match month then the match result will be voided. PLAYERS
MUST SEND MESSAGES TO ARRANGE THEIR MATCHES AND NOT JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER ABOUT IT AS
PROOF CANNOT BE GIVEN OF THIS WHEN AWARDING WALKOVERS. PLAYERS WHO JUST TALK ABOUT
ARRANGING MATCHES AND ARE NOT PLAYED BY THE LAST DAY OF THAT SCHEDULED MATCH MONTH WILL
HAVE THE RESULT VOIDED. When arranging a match players must give ample notice with suggested dates and
times to play that match, for example, trying to arrange matches for the same day is not ample time. Any
matches arranged to be played at the Orchard Gardens in North Walsham must be added to the online calendar
here https://calendar.online/e83d3a5b5d11ec4fc1db Please allow 1.5 hours per match and please also leave a 1
hour space between any other matches and only two matches per day unless quiet and permission is given by
the staff.
A 10 day match extension may be requested by either player for a scheduled match, this MUST be requested
before the last day of the month for any scheduled match, this will give the players an extra 10 days into the
next month to play their match. The extension request MUST be made by message to Marcus Allen on
messenger, text or WhatsApp on 07734652029.
Extensions will not be available for the cup competition.
Only in exceptional circumstances will matches be postponed to be played at a later time outside of any
requested extension.
League matches will all be races to 5 frames.
Scoring system for the league will be 3 points for a win, and 0 for a loss with no draws. If any league positions
are still tied at the end of the normal scheduled matches of the season and affects top 3 and bottom 3 places
then a ONE MATCH PLAYOFF (WHICH MUST BE ARRANGED AND PLAYED AT THE ORCHARD GARDENS) will be
played which will also be a race to 5.
League table positions will be decided in order by the following.
POINTS
FRAMES WON
FRAMES LOST
At the end of the season the top 3 players will be promoted to the next division above and the bottom 3 players
will be relegated to the next division below.
The RackEmApp system is now being used for the league divisions, cup competition and all fixtures and results.
All results will be on https://www.rackemapp.com/leagues/northwalshampool and also a backup will still be used on nwpsl.leaguerepublic.com
The 'Golden Break' and ‘Golden Duck’ rules will be in operation throughout the league so if you pot the 8-ball
off the break you win the frame, alternatively, if you pot the 8-ball and the cue ball off the break you lose the
frame.
Players are required to play 2 matches per month as per the fixtures announced on nwpsl.leaguerepublic.com
Matches can be played in advance if required, for example if a player is going on holiday etc. Also, if a player
plays a match early, for example, they play their February match in January then they must still play their 2
scheduled January matches.
In your messages with each other arranging matches please make your availability very clear to your opponent,
i.e. let them know your working hours, other league commitments, holidays etc, so there are no grey areas for
confusion.
All fixtures will be available on nwpsl.LeagueRepublic.com and all players will be sent their fixtures and
opponents contact details by message so please print them out or save them to your phone or other mobile
device for reference.
If a player drops out of the league, all results will be voided back to the nearest completed half season so if a
player plays and completes 7 matches in a division of 8 players then those results will stand and any following
results voided. Withdrawals from the league within the last month of the season may be regarded as tactical
and a decision will be made on affected results.
If a player does not turn up at all for a previously agreed match, or cancels the match less than 1 hour before
the agreed start time, the player who has turned up will be awarded a 5-0 win (the player who has turned up
must show some evidence to prove this before being awarded the win).
If a player is late for an arranged match then the player who has turned up may claim ONE FRAME EVERY 15
MINUTES THEIR OPPONENT IS LATE BY, (again, proof of the time turned up if late will be needed to award these
frames).
All players are expected to act in a sportsmanlike manner at all times so please be respectful to the league,
players and venue staff. In the event of a dispute during the match you can always pause the match and contact
myself for any rules clarification before continuing and the decision of the league organisers will be final. Players
who are and/or get barred from The Orchard Gardens will not be able to participate in the Singles League and
will be removed from the league immediately with no refund given as Cup Semi Finals and Final will take place
at The Orchard Gardens.
Prize money for the league divisions will be awarded to the top 3 players in each division split £80 to the winner,
£40 to the runner up and £20 to third place.
Prize money for the Cup competition will be awarded to the winner £70 and runner up £30 (This is based on a
division of 8 players).
Your league fee will be £20 per player for all divisions.
A cup competition (prize money sponsored by Andy Haynes of Crystal Cabs) will run alongside the league and
this will be randomly drawn at the beginning and will follow that draw to the end (Not redrawn each round).
On all other matters, the league organisers decision is final, and the right is reserved to amend these rules as
appropriate and without notice.
