Minutes of the Captains Meeting

I. JR opened the meeting with apologies on Barb’s behalf for not being able to attend. Attendance was noted, with 17 teams being represented and 2 teams absent.

II. DPh confirmed Season 18 finances and balance sheet was made available. Current budget has £613 for Season 18 trophies/winnings. Finance sheet will be updated within 14 days of the closing of Season 18 and put on the RackEmApp and Facebook Page for transparency. JR then talked around the need of a league bank account and the legal reasons surrounding that decision.

III. JR discussed the new By Laws, with the new roles & responsibilities which includes officer term limits with a re-election criteria every two seasons (section 3, 4 & 5). DPh to update the By laws and put on the RackEmApp and Facebook Page for transparency.

IV. DPh went through the remaining match schedule for all comps and noted that registration deadline would be Tue 10^th March, Finals Day is on Sunday 22^nd March and the start of season 19 on Tue 24^th March. We will let everyone know when RackEmApp is ready for registration.

V. DPh was going to give a breakdown report on the Perpetual Trophies and then Jonathan Spencer offered to sponsor the Perpetual Trophies up to the value of £500. DPh will contact Johnny to discuss a way forward and see if he wants anything in return for the sponsorship.

VI. AOB

i) JR noted that the world cup runs between 11^th June and 18^th July and the season will be paused during that time.

ii) JR explained that in recognition of Barb’s involvement in the Eastleigh League for such a long time, she has been made Life President and the Knockout Cup will be renamed The Presidents Trophy in her honour.

iii) CE conducted a vote on current fees for season 19 and the result was a £40 team entry fee with a £3 per player signing on fee.

iv) CE conducted a vote to introduce an additional warning time at 10 secs which carried. To clarify, we will have a 60 sec shot clock with a warning at 30 secs and 10 secs.

v) DPh explained that the Pro Club (new team) are not completely up to speed with the Blackball rule set so please can everyone help them where necessary within the spirit of the game.

vi) JR & DPh outlined the Wessex Cup that will be run between Andover, Eastleigh, Salisbury & Winchester on an annual basis. This year being a bit of a trial run but in essence, the highest ranking players along with Captains picks will make up a 12 man team to compete against the other leagues. Initial rounds will consist of 56 frames with play off and finals being 112 frames per match.
