Welcome to the Blind Doubles Open

The aim of this competition is to increase awareness of Blackball Rules (BB Rules) by pairing non BB rule players with experienced players.

Therefore for this competition only, talking will be allowed during each visit (while a pair is in play).

All other rules as per the official BB rules apply with the exception of shot timing. No shot timing (unless deemed necessary on Finals and Presentation night) will be utilised.

Competition scores can be submitted using the App. Search "RackEmApp" in the App Store or Google Play to download the app. If you have an account, login and use the menu for "My Matches". if you don't have an account, press the Access Scoreboard button and enter the match code from the sheet below. Match Codes are CASE SENSITIVE. Click here for more information about the scoreboard

Keep the score up to date as you play. Only one player needs to maintain the score, but please ensure scores are agreed.

ALL PAIRS are responsible for arranging their matches (at the Nominated or agreed Venues)

and submitting results before the following deadlines before 23:59 on the date stated.

ROUND 1 (32) – 07/11/25

ROUND 2 (16) – 05/12/25

QUARTER FINALS – 23/01/26

SEMI-FINALS – 20/02/26

FINALS NIGHT – 21/02/26 (Race to 4 Frames in Final)

These will not be extended.

MATCHES ARE RACE TO 3 FRAMES

If a Pair has difficulty contacting the other Pair they must contact the Div Reps or Committee for assistance.
In general, if results are not received before the cut-off then neither Pair will go through to the next round. However, the Committee may overturn this decision if a Pair proves they have made attempts to arrange the match and they have escalated to the Div Reps/Committee beforehand.

MATCH RULES
For All Matches - If BOTH Pairs (playing each other) have opted to play Black Ball Rules they will play Black Ball Rules. ALL OTHER matches will be played using our League Rules.

In the event of a dispute during a match, Pairs must refer to the rules (available on our website) for clarification. If the dispute is not covered by the rules contact the Div Reps/Committee.

NOTE – FOR ROUNDS 1-2, THE FIRST PAIR DRAWN WILL BE DESIGNATED THE HOME PAIR AND THE MATCH MUST TAKE PLACE AT THEIR TEAM VENUE UNLESS OTHERWISE AGREED.

REFEREES CAN BE USED FROM THE QUARTER FINALS STAGE ONWARDS.
