The Break:
• The balls are randomly placed into the triangle, with the 'normal' ball placed on the spot.
• The order of breaking is determined by a 'lag' (usual rules), the winner of which will have
the choice of breaking for the first rack in the first set, with players alternating break in each • The player who breaks has one visit on all racks and must perform a legal break.
• If no balls are potted, the opponent player starts their visit.
• If any balls are potted, the player will continue their visit.
Rules of Play: • A legally pocketed ball entitles a player to continue at the table until he fails to legally pot a ball on a legal shot. A player may shoot any ball, scoring one point for each ball potted legally.
• When the 15 balls of a rack are pocketed, play stops momentarily with the cue-ball remaining in position on the table; the 15 pocketed balls are then racked as before. The player then continues, breaking from where the cue-ball had finished on the previous shot.
• If the cue ball finishes in the space where the balls are normally racked the player will have ball in hand behind the baulk line.
Fouls:
• Five points deducted for any foul committed in a shot, and play immediately passes to opponent, with one free shot and option to play from baulk, and then continues with one
visit only after the initial free shot.
• If a player fouls on a shot that has not pocketed a ball, the point penalty is deducted from
their running score.
• If a player fouls and pockets a ball on the same shot, that ball is not scored and the point penalty is deducted from their score.
