The Mighty Oak boys look set to pot their 8th Premier League title on the spin, they may have changed their name 4 times brought in and let players go but the nucleus of that 2021 team remain. Three of those players were in the pot zone again this week as the Oak out potted the surprise team of the season Atack Snooker 8 – 4. In a match of top quality pool Glenn Dunn & Steve Nesden produced break dishes while Vivek Makh knocked in a reverse dish, the Atack’s Shaun Orr also potted a break dish. A couple of teams are in contention for the runners up spot which is currently occupied by Atherstone Cons ‘A’. The Long Street potters came back from 4 – 2 down to beat The Travellers 8 – 4 while 3rdplaced Coton Bandits produced an even better comeback. Trailing 5 - 0 against Chapel End Libs ‘A’ they somehow managed to pot a share of the spoils with the match ending all square, Scott Varden rolling back the years with an excellent break dish for the Bandits. Flagnificent 7 finally got their first win in the Premier League after so many close calls beating Gurkha Corner 7 – 5. Royal Oak look to make it a doubles success as the Roadhouse lead Division One by 20points. However they were soundly beaten this week by the unpredictable Chapel End Libs ‘B’ 8 - 4. Atherstone Cons ‘B’ move into 2nd spot after thumping Coton
Old Boys 11 – 1, Simon Chapman with a break dish for the Connie boys. Lucky Buddha’s are up to 3rd place after they beat Coniston ‘A’ 7 – 5, Steve Harris with a break dish for the Buddha’s and Danny Eales potting a break dish for the Coniston. Elsewhere the Midland Railway beat Fox Inn 7 – 5. Pi55 Head Corner were firing on all cylinders as they beat Salutation 10 – 2 and look set to take the Division Two title. Poke n Hope Cons stay on the Hearty’s coat tails in 2nd place also winning 10 – 2 while Griff & Coton beat the Corner House and Prince of Wales shared the points with the Kingswood Tavern.
