Well done to the Atack Snooker who out potted the Coniston Tavern ‘A’ to lift the Doug Postin Memorial Shield. In a closely contested final at the Gurkha Corner the Atack just had the edge over their lower league opponents as they took their chances when it mattered most. In fact the Regent Street potters raced into a 6 – 0 lead, but it could quite easily had been all square at the half way point such was the closeness of the frames. The Coniston started the second half much better taking 3 frames in a row to half the deficit, but any thought s of an unlikely comeback were quashed as Steve Cooper potted the 10th frame to hand the title for the Atack. Thank you to Chau Gurung and staff at the Gurkha Corner for hosting us and to Malc Postin for preparing the table and balls for the match. Top night with both sides a credit to the league.
